Having recently purchased a new home, we have been doing several projects around the house. At every opportunity, Alli has swiped the hammer and set around banging on stuff. Rather than simply taking it away for the hundredth time, we devised an activity that she can use the hammer on.
I love ‘bucket lists,’ although less aptly named than their grim predecessors, because with one fell swoop you can avoid the “what do you want to do?” “I don’t know what do you want to do?” conversations. Plus, it’s a great way to gain insight as to what your child is currently interested in. It’s a wonderful co-activity to make a plan and cross off items on the list as you complete them.
